Books For Any Healing Human
Bibliotherapy (the use of books to support the therapeutic process) can be extremely powerful. These are just a few of the books that I believe point in a helpful direction. There is no such thing as a perfect book with all of the answers. However, for many people who are on a healing journey, it helps to collect as many “healthy voices for the inner choir” as possible. Whether the messages we hear are from authors, podcast hosts, well-attuned professional counselors, wise teachers, loyal family members, or loving friends - it helps to collect as many allies in the world as we can. If you are interested in bibliotherapy, I would be glad to recommend other books focused on specific issues you are facing.
Content warning: all four of the books listed below contain references to traumatic events including child abuse. Please reach out to trusted support as needed.
